Hesston by Massey Ferguson Models Win 2023 AE50 Award

Hay Equipment Is Two of AGCO’s 10 Overall Awards

DULUTH, Ga. | Feb. 6, 2023 | AGCO Corporation (NYSE: AGCO), a global leader in the design, manufacture and distribution of agricultural machinery and precision ag technology, received 10 AE50 awards from the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE). This annual award recognizes 50 products from the agricultural, food and biological industries for remarkable innovation, significant engineering advancement and impact on their markets. The company’s Hesston by Massey Ferguson® line produced two of this year’s winners, the WR Series self-propelled windrower and the updated LB2200 Series large square baler. These innovative machines usher in a new era of straightforward, dependable forage solutions from the most trusted name in hay.

“From the industry’s first large square baler to these cutting-edge releases, Hesston by Massey Ferguson has led the hay and forage industry when it comes to reliable, user-friendly solutions,” said Matt LeCroy, director, marketing hay and harvesting North America, for Massey Ferguson. “We are proud to have these machines recognized for their innovation and positive impact on the North American hay market.”

More uptime, more power, more comfort in the hay field

The new WR Series windrower features an industry-exclusive closed-center auxiliary hydraulic system. Depending on application, this feature allows farmers to reduce fuel consumption or increase available power. This boost in overall efficiency is paired with a 150-gallon fuel tank capacity for greater uptime and productivity. The design also eliminates the need for a secondary pump for auxiliary functions such as a triple windrower attachment (TWA).

The WR Series also offers some of Massey Ferguson’s most cutting-edge technology for increased productivity and a comfortable ride. Technology updates, like the Datatronic™ 5 console, improve field efficiency, reduce operator stress, and allow real-time tracking and data management. MF Guide ensures accurate auto-steering to minimize pass-to-pass overlap, saving up to 12% fuel in field operations.

Increased efficiency during baling for better quality hay

The updated LB2200 Series baler blends proven and new technology to provide a user-friendly, cost-efficient hay and forage solution. The series introduces a five-bar pickup, which allows for better productivity and smoother crop flow, resulting in better flakes for a better bale. The updated design also features poly tine wrappers, which are more forgiving than traditional metal components, leading to a longer service life. The poly tines also reduce noise for less stress during long hours of operation.

Other updates include new CEA electronics for reliable knotter trip, TIM functionality, telemetry for more accurate productivity monitoring and new user interface for improved operator experience. The new model also comes with new axle and tire options for a smoother ride in the field or on the road.

“Hesston by Massey Ferguson hay equipment is known for high productivity and producing some of the best quality forage,” LeCroy said. “The WR Series and updated LB2200 Series provide the efficiency and dependability producers have come to expect, with added comforts that make the long days in the field more enjoyable. Thank you to the selection committee for recognizing that these machines were Born to Farm.”
